I was sprinting through the woods, water splashing from the leaves to my face. I glanced up at the thin grey clouds circling in the midnight sky. Though it was a sight, I couldn’t stop. The anxiety was suffocating, the terror made my knees go weak, but I had to keep going. I had to run or they would catch me, and I was not going to end up like the others. * * * * * * I sat at the window sill, as I have been doing all week, counting the raindrops.
