Traveling to see your far away family was a breeze, but that has changed. Being on time to catch a flight was easy, but that has changed. Surprising the one you love at an airport was effortless, but that has changed. All of it has changed since the attack on America on September 11, 2001. Many learned to come together and appreciate life while you have it. One woman, Casey Zeiber was flying on a plane during the attacks. Fortunately, it was not one that went down, but it had to land far from it’s destination of Las Vegas, Nevada. 9/11 made her realize that she has to appreciate life and not take anything for granted.
The day started off crisp and clear. Everything seemed normal. Casey, however,day felt that something was off.
“I just had the feeling that something was wrong and something was going to happen. I even said that I didn’t want to go because the feeling was that strong.”
The feeling she had was not because of something bad she ate that day. Everything was normal until the attacks. It was as if someone opened up Pandora’s Box and let havoc run free. On the plane, the attendants seemed weary and off. When the passengers found out about the attacks they were freaking out. The plane took an emergency landing in Kansas City.

The childhood experience was not as traumatic as her 9/11 experience. Heading to her friends house, it was a crisp afternoon. It was later in the day, but she was still enjoying it even though she felt a little bit weird that day. Cell phones did not exist then, so curfew was when it got dark outside. She was over halfway there, and a storm came in speedily. She needed to get home to her family, but the storm was delaying her walk home. A tree had fallen down in the road, so she had to go through the woods to get home. It was dark and scary, but she managed to make it home safely.
