One of the first brands that really stood out to me was Death Row Records which was founded by Dr. Dre and was home to other successful artists such as Snoop Dog and Tupac Shakur. Along with Death Row Records was their “Not so Friendly Neighbors” Bad Boy Entertainment which boasted an equally as impressive lineup with the likes of The Notorious B.I.G. and P Diddy. These men not only pioneered their own unique sounds, they also boasted impressive brands that they founded off their extremely hard work and dedication to their craft. Greenburg argues that these three kings' success is not only the result of their individual talent and dedication, but also of their capacity to recognize and take advantage of new opportunities, their willingness to take risks, and their dedication to forming effective teams that work together. In regards to my overall assessment of the novel, I would say that the cultural shift that is highlighted throughout the book was one of the most important shifts in entrepreneurship, marketing, and branding history in America. The importance of authenticity, the power of collaboration, and the value of innovation were all huge takeaways that I had from this novel. “3 Kings” offers a
