My career goal is to become a diagnostic medical sonographer, or an ultrasound technician. Each day as an ultrasound technician will bring new surprises. In the morning a sonographer could be conducting an OB/GYN ultrasound, helping an excited first-time mom see her fetus developing in her belly. Then, then in the next procedure your trying to calm an old woman as she waits to see if her tumors have grown. The days of a medical sonographer are never dull but are challenging, fast-paced, and rewarding.

I have known for years that I wanted to work in the realm of health science. I knew that I wanted to do something in sports medicine. When I took a deeper look into sports medicine I learned that there are many areas of sports medicine that you can get licensed in and that the sports medicine part would be a specialty to attach to it. So I took the list as started to look through it at each job that plays an affect in the sport medicine area. I narrowed in on Physical Therapy and then took the time to do some shadowing in it for my senior study.

While Prometheus from Greek mythology gifted fire to mankind, Loki from Norse mythology stole fire, yet they still conduct themselves in similar manners. Their actions pertaining fire had an effect on their people and mankind.

Going into my sophomore year, I began a job in the emergency department at the hospital located in the college town. During my first day, I got to see a variety of emergent and non-emergent medical procedures.
There are two engineering careers that interest me, biomedical or civil engineering. I know they may seem completely different, but due to the fact I take some classes in the engineering field, and some in the medical field, I still have not decided which way to go. A biomedical engineer creates equipment, devices, computer systems, and software used in healthcare, while a civil engineer designs, builds and supervises construction projects such as bridges, buildings, airports, and many more. A biomedical engineer focuses a lot on bringing knowledge to create, design and evaluate biomedical equipment.
