What are the similarities and differences of the play and the movie A Christmas Carol ?In these two stories they were almost identical but slightly different The two scrooges in the stories were very similar. They are very similar because of their behavior, selfishness, cruelty, and misunderstanding for Christmas. Although the two scrooges get better along the story, they had a misunderstanding of Christmas most of the time. The two Scrooges also thought of a word that was what they thought of Christmas and how it was explained to them. It was explained to them with the phrase Bah-Humbug. Scrooge was never a fan of Christmas so it was time someone taught him what it was really about and how important it is. However, in the play Marley took off his head to scream(Dickens, 8). A similarities of the Marley’s in both stories is that they were transparent and had chains tied to them. In both the play and movie Scrooge was always well dressed and had food with him(Video 1984). Then Scrooge travels with the present past and future as in both stories. Scrooge dresses nicely in both stories and has a hat most of the time(Video, 1984). There were very few differences in the two stories
The two stories had a message for Christmas. It was to think about other families and being generous to people, and greeting them with a smile, don 't be selfish, grumpy, and mean. It was also showing you had a second chance of making things right like Scrooge. The other part of the message is that it’s better to give than receive like Scrooge gave Mr. Cratchit 's family a turkey. The message is showing you not to be greedy and selfish because that will leave you no choice but a lonely, gloomy, sad
