Although it can be argued that Thomas Jefferson’s government policies were better than Alexander Hamilton’s, Hamilton, overall, had the better policy because of his persistence to progress, his federalist beliefs, and his understanding of the issues with Jefferson’s trust in the common man’s morals. Thomas Jefferson can be described as a leader who lived in the present*, whereas Alexander Hamilton had his vision set on the future of the country. He saw America’s strength lying in its commerce, and saw industry, trade, and manufacturing as forces of progression. In order to fuel the nation’s success in the global marketplace, a strong federal government would be needed. Hamilton supported a powerful central government because he recognized that
Whereas Jefferson was born very rich in Virginia, and became the Secretary of State while Washington was incharge. Thomas Jefferson, however, was not as good as Hamilton at speaking in front of the crowds. Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson had complete opposite opinions regarding the ideal economy and best type of government.
They both contributed to the bringing up of today’s nation. However, they had different opinions and different ideas. Hamilton was way more involved in the structuring of the constitution and settling up the government than Jefferson. Even though he supported a strong executive, he understood the value of the balance of power. It should be taken into consideration that Jefferson was a slave holder and promoted that freed slaves should leave the country because they wouldn’t fit into our society.
There were many people who wanted to redo the Confederation's national debt/pay Hamilton insisted on a full payment and also a plan so that the federal government could take over the unpaid debts, that were due for the states which had happened in the Revolution. Hamilton also made sure that congressional legislation for the Bank for one of the United States was very secured. When the Bank of England acted as the nation's main institution it managed other branches in different parts of the country. Hamilton decided to sponsor a national print and argued in favor of tariffs, saying that protection of firms could be used to help keep the development of competitive national manufacturers. These measures took place of the credit for the federal government on a good foundation and gave it all the fixes and help it needed.
The Enlightenment is a period of time during the 17th and 18th century that brought forth many new, revolutionary ideas regarding social, political, and economic issues. Such ideas aided the founding fathers in their creation of a new government that would soon be the United States of America. Two of these founders, Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson, differed in their political reasoning. For example, while Jefferson believes that the people “can be trusted with their own government,” Hamilton argues that the people “seldom judge or determine right.” Hamilton favored a type of government that would put a select few (the rich) in charge of the people, while Jefferson favored a government that would put the people in total control.
Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson were two of the political philosophers in the United States during the 1800s. They were always going head to head on topics from who should govern the people, how the government should be structured, economics, and foreign policy. Jefferson, who was a Democratic-Republican supported the common people’s rights. He also wanted to limit the powers of the federal government. Hamilton on the other hand was of the Federalist party who was against the common people having any say so in how things were ran.

From 1794-1824, Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton had contrasting views on how the government and country should operate. Hamilton focused on fixing short-term financial issues through his Financial Plan by uniting the states under a national bank and creating protective tariffs to establish American manufacturing. Jefferson opposed many of Hamilton's ideas because he feared they would give too much power to the federal government. He encouraged farming and resisted Hamilton's belief in a strong manufacturing system. Both visions fought one another to gain favor, but one was more prominent overall.
Hamilton vs. Jefferson Visions to Reality Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton both had very defined visions of the scope and power of the new federal government, how they saw the future of the economic development, and what the United States society should become. In my opinion Alexander Hamilton had more of an impact on the United States during the 1820’s and on contemporary government when compared to Thomas Jefferson. His policies did not strictly work during that time and many of his ideas are still seen in today’s society. Jefferson’s views and ideas on/of the national bank, higher tariffs, debt assumption, The Federalist Party, and his support of the ratification of the Constitution are all reasons in why his policies and visions came closer to becoming a reality. Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton, molded the gatherings that provoked to the twofold party system under which the U.S. works today.
After securing its independence from Britain, America was immediately faced with a crisis of how the budding country should be governed. The Articles of Confederation was the first effort to establish a democratic government in the US; however, this feeble attempt at a creating a stable government failed due to a lack of control over the states. Rather than a functioning authority in the nation, the Articles created a “firm league of friendship” between the states. To remedy this pathetic excuse for a ruling body, a Constitution was drafted, and rival sides emerged quickly on the main issues the new document was supposed to address. Two men that embodied this conflict were Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton, both passionate patriots who strongly believed that their proposed forms of government were in the best interests of the country, but they disagreed fundamentally on what that form of government should be.
As Secretary of Treasury, Alexander created the first National Bank. He also created The US Mint. This was where the first American coins were made. While Hamilton was Secretary of Treasury, he helped the government be able to pay its debts. Because of this, European countries were willing to do business with them.

Due to Hamilton and his loose constructionist views, the National Bank was made, that greatly influenced the United States. Even to this day, in 2016, Hamilton has played an influence on many events and decisions. The Federal Reserve is very similar to the National Bank because it is our central bank of the
Cotton had always been my dog. Even if we got him for my step dad, scott, he'd claimed me. We got him in 2010 on Father's day. Scott had really wanted another dog. He was eight weeks old and so small and fragile when we brought him home.
Each one had their own view of how to do this, but it was a main goal of both politicians. Alexander Hamilton was a founding father and leader of the Federalist party. Hamilton wanted America to be just like Great Britain. He believed that in the best interest for the country, the government should be run by elite people with lots of money. Hamilton was The United States Secretary of Treasury, during this time, and proposed many of his reform ideas to Congress.
