During our classes time studying poetry, we read several poems: “A Dream Deferred” by Langston Hughes, “Hope” by Emily Dickinson, and “maggie, milly, molly, and may” by E.E. Cummings. Each poem focused on different subject matters; “A Dream Deferred” questioned the effect of postponing your dreams, “Hope” analyzed the nature of the feeling of the same name, and “maggie, milly, molly, and may” simply told the narrative of children at the same day, at the beach. Starting off with my unquestionable favorite from the trio of poems, “Hope” by Emily Dickinson.
