A Hero's Journey

Then he threw his knife to me and it stabbed me in my arm. I screamed with pain and I pulled the triggers unconsciously.
Israel Hands screamed and fell from the mast into the sea. I saw the water turn red from blue. He was dead.
I took the knife out of my arm; luckily it wasn’t a deep wound. Then I jumped from Hispaniola onto the land and ran towards the shelter. It was night time and all my friends were asleep. I was very happy to see them safe and in peace. I walked in the dark shelter to wake them up and tell what happened. I went near a person who looked like Doctor Livesey and while I was reaching out my hand to his shoulder, a loud noise began: “Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight!”
It was a Long John Silver’s parrot; Captain Flint. Suddenly

“Look what we have here. The doctor gave this to me.” he said. It was Captain Flint’s map of the Treasure.
The pirates forgot about killing me and looked at the map. “Hurray! Silver has the map of the treasure. He is the Captain! Hurray! Captain Silver! We are going to be rich!” they shouted.
Then the pirates went back to sleep, but I couldn’t. Silver was playing a dangerous game and I had to stay awake…
Next morning, Doctor Livesey came to check the sick pirates. He looked at me angrily when he saw me there. After he finished giving the medicines to the pirates, he turned me. “We must talk alone for a while Hawkins,” he said.
Pirates didn’t like this and shouted: “He cannot speak with the doctor. He can run away!” they shouted.
“I promise, ” I said. “I am not going to run away”
Silver supported me, so we got out talking. Before we began talking, Silver came out of the shelter and “I helped Jim to stay alive. I hope you will help me, too.” he whispered to the Doctor. Then he walked away and sat in front of the door of the shelter to keep the pirates from coming near us.
“Why did you run away Jim?” he asked.
“I’m sorry, Doctor.” I said.

“We are in trouble.” he whispered.
We were on one side of the hole with Silver and the pirates were on the other side of it.
George Merry turned the gun to us. “Silver! You are a liar and a traitor!” he roared. “Let’s shoot the boy and Long John Silver! We are more crowded than them. Let’s kill them and leave this cursed island.”
At the same moment, shots came between the bushes. Two pirates were shot and fell on the ground dead. The three sailors ran away. Doctor Livesey, Squire Trelawney and Ben Gunn existed behind the bushes and ran towards us. Silver looked at Ben Gunn and; “I knew it was you, ” he said.” But! How did you survive?”
“There are wild goats, some vegetables, and fruits here. So, I survived. Then I found Captain Flint’s treasure, because I was with him when he buried the treasure. I carried the treasure into my cave.” said Ben Gunn.
Doctor Livesey stepped forwards and he said: “When I went to find Ben Gunn, he told me about the treasure. Then I came back to give the shelter and the map to you…” he turned to Silver. Then he looked at me: “You were gone Hawkins. Then I came back to the cave without any plans. Then I came to look after the sick pirates, I saw you there. So, I changed my plans…” he
