The setting is in a variety of places in her city (Orlando, Florida),for the most part the setting takes place at her highschool and many places for a scavenger hunt. The characters include Josie Taylor(the main character),Zoey(best friend),Katy(best friend, Megan(bestfriend), Rob(brother) and Josie’s father. The conflict is that Josie is a pretty average teenager, except for the fact that her real birthday on comes around every four years.Like many other teenagers turning 16 is a pretty big deal for her, she has a “special” birthday invitation. The conflict for Josie is that she wants to make it the best birthday, and get through the day without all the school embarrassment. Plus, with her friend Katy admitting a secret no one knows about makes it harder for Josie to plan. …show more content…

The rising action is, Josie wakes up on her “4th” birthday and has a lot going on today her drivers test, and play tryouts.Her parents make a huge deal about birthdays, especially Josie’s. “Then my eyes fall on something sticking out from under the pillow on the floor..My very own key to Rob’s car..You haven't passed the driver’s test yet,Josie”page 4-5. The climax is that Josie receives a note from her friend Katy and a note from her mother. The note from her mom is excusing her from school to take her drivers test, and the note from Katy is a secret she needed to tell Josie. By mistake she gave the teacher Katy’s note, the teacher read the note and now Josie faces embarrassment.
