The purpose that Jeh Johnson was trying to convey in his speech was how the Bloomberg Government will be able to protect and conserve the United States infrastructure regarding terrorist attacks, border security, and deportation efforts. During the speech, the speaker was trying to grasp the audience attention on the issues of the United States infrastructure and how his company can help provide better. In the beginning of the speech, I did have trouble trying to identify what the speaker main point was about. Also, why did he want us to help the United States infrastructure on terrorist attacks, border security, and deportation efforts? It is supposed to be the United States to job to handle all these problems. Furthermore, as Jeh Johnson continued with his speech he changed the tone of his voice. He did that to make the matter seem more important and how serious it is for them to handle the situation. Jeh states, “I just want to look beyond the criticism the negative aspects of Homeland security problems. The response that Jeh gave made people view him as a man that take account of his mistakes. He discussed “looking beyond the criticism that he is about to receive from President Obama, and other people from the government.” Jeh was asked a question about “what were some of the threats or some things that they need to bring up as a priority for the infrastructure.” Before Jeh revealed his answer to that question he made a slight joke about him “making news” when he brought out that piece of paper about what needs to be done about the infrastructure.
