When I finished reading the New Yorker article “ Machine Politics ” by David Kushner I agree with Hotz’s argument against Apple, Sony and other tech companies, because he is simply expressing himself and using his freedom of speech. As a citizen of The United States of America I want to feel comfortable with using my freedom of speech as Hotz does when he hacks all of the separate tech companies. Hotz is not doing anything illegal and these companies should give people the information before people like Hotz can hack into them.
A major reason Hotz’s argument is more valid than anonymous because he is exercising his freedom of speech. When Hotz hacks into Apple and finds a way to make free calls, Apple company isn’t very angry as even the co-founder of Apple Steve Wozniak sent Hotz a congratulatory e-mail saying, “ It was like a story out of a movie of someone who solves an incredible mystery, ” he also told the interviewer “ I understand the mind-set if a person who wants to do that, and I don’t think of people like that as criminals. In fact, I think that misbehavior is very strongly correlated with and responsible for creative thought. ” Even apple's slogan at the time was “ Think different ” which is encouraging people like Hotz to explore their talents and to go above and beyond what already …show more content…

Hacking is a perfect example of this. If the company's co-founder of the company that is being hacked encourages Hotz to hack and to use his freedoms, than it’s obviously okay. Anonymous’s argument
