This book really taught me that people can be different than they appear. Sometimes this is a good thing but other times it is bad. Mr.Merricks friend Charles ends up being bad when he shows his true colors. He tries to force himself on Evelyn but fails while he is drunk. Mr.Merrick on the other hand appears very ugly, scary, and mean but is actually really sweet. He sees Evelyn as an angel and cares for her. I think this book also showed that many people die suddenly regret thing that they didn't accomplish while they were alive. I believe a large sum of people live life in the mindset that there is always more time and that you can finish things later but the ghosts in this book really showed how they ran out of time and didn't accomplish what they wanted to. The ghosts had to turn to Evelyn to finish what they needed. I liked the fact the Evelyn and Mr.Merrick become great friends by the end of the book and get to spend time together not just in a professional atmosphere. Overall, this book taught me many different things about trust and judgement and i liked the story behind all of the many different lessons it taught
