The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini is a fiction novel about the complicated relationship between two half-brothers. One of the brothers, Hassan is portrayed as a very loyal, brave, and selfless person while enduring the unfairness of the societal hierarchy. Furthermore, Hassan never changes and represents the innocent archetype throughout the book. Reading through the archetypal criticism lens allows readers to identify patterns and predict what will happen throughout the book. In addition, by knowing how characters fit into an archetypal role, readers can gain a deeper understanding of the characters’ motivations, actions, and relationships with other characters.

What is even more ironic is that despite all the criticism, these so-called coincidences do not exist in the story. According to VC King, author of Titanic, “The probability of a certain set of circumstances coming together in a meaningful (or tragic) way is so low that it simply cannot be considered mere coincidence.” Everything happens for a reason.
Through Amir’s experiences in dealing with Hassan’s rape, the Taliban overtaking Afghanistan, and Amir’s life with Sohrab, Hosseini was able to exemplify the theme of sins and redemption. Many things can influence these relationships whether it be good or bad. The main thing that creates and develops relationships are your actions. Relationships help form a person and can lead on to their true self. One major relationship in the book the kite runner by Khaled Hosseini, is between Amir and Hassan.
In the novel the Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini he illustrates the sacrifice one gives for love. Over the course of the novel Amir, Hassan, and Baba all face dramatic events that shape them to the person they are. Each one of them sacrifice a piece of their own happiness for the one they love. Hassan is loyal to Amir even though in their childhood Amir was not a good friend. Baba sacrifices his life in Afghanistan for Amir to have an education in America.

End the relationship between sons and fathers plays a huge factor in the plot of the book. Amir cherished Baba dearly, though he felt as if Baba never showed it back. Their Relationship is complex, and because of that, Amir's eagerness to win Baba's affection drove him to do the unimaginable and intervene in Hassan's rape, His closest friend.
In Khaled Hosseini novel A Thousand Splendid Suns, through the pivotal moments of Jalil not showing up, Rasheed making her eat rocks, and bonding with Laila and Aziza, Mariam develops from an oblivious child that was forced to grow up too fast to a caring woman in a bad situation demonstrating the overall theme that when you find your family and people to love it can change you for the better. At the start of the novel, Mariam is treated very poorly by her mother Nana by making her do loads of chores without showing any appreciation or love towards her, while it upset Mariam and really pushes her away from Nana, Mariam seems to find these missing qualities of love and appreciation in Jalil until the day he was supposed to take her to the theater he didn’t show up, these events end up breaking Mariams heart making her resent Jalil for the rest of her life and making her realize what Nana was telling her for years that “You think you matter to him? you are nothing!” was true all along showing her obliviousness to the hope of finding love and family.

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, initially published in 2007, is set in Afghanistan from the early 1960s to the early 2000s. In this, it explores the story of Mariam and Laila as the protagonists, who teach the reader the reality of life as a woman in a backward Islamic country. The story covers three decades of anti-Soviet jihad, civil war and Taliban tyranny seen from the perspectives of these two women and observes how they become to create a bond, despite having come from previously living in very different backgrounds.

However, the biggest father-son relationship throughout the novel is between Baba and Amir. The relationship between Baba and Amir is not your typical father-son relationship and the novel centers upon it.
