Having been challenged from attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, I can inspire other students with disabilities to achieve their objectives and goals in life regardless of their experiences. Furthering my education in psychology also offers me a platform to gain more knowledge of how our mind understands and works. I experienced childhood leukaemia and the long term effects impacted me greatly. I was diagnosed with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder at the age of 12. ADHD has affected me in many ways in my school life both short term and long term. I also struggle with anxiety, but this does not stop me from doing things I enjoy. To overcome hyperactivity, I partake in various activities. I am a person that is consistently looking for ways to help in the community. I volunteer at the local blood-center and work as an assistant gymnastic coach.
I can achieve a tremendous amount of success at the educational institution. Currently, I attend a special program at my high school under the Center for Advanced Research and Technology. The program has guided and helped in developing the skills and confidence to succeed in life. Furthermore, I was honoured to be a recipient of the Student of Promise Award and Scholarship. I want to attend CSULB because of the level of education and the many opportunities available to students on campus. I believe the challenges that I overcame in the past elevates my contribution potential for this program.
