A professional organization needs a Code of Ethics because it is needed in order to help their members to be aware of the important of professional ethics. A code of ethics is also vital in avoiding ethical conflicts. Having a set of standards that help govern the conduct of the members helps in many ways. Having a outline of the mission and values of the organization shows not only the employees that you value integrity but also the customers. It provides a clear point of reference when enforcing corrective action, for example when an employee fails to meet the standards. The code of ethics clearly lays outs the rules for behavior and provides the base for a preemptive warning.
