Using a few famouse artist the weeknd was able to compose the song; the upbeat rythm was inspired by the king of pop, Micheal Jackson, the lyrics where inspired by Barry Manilow's song "Copcabana" and, how in that song his lyrics where depressing yet the music was happy and the lyrics and the meaning behind them where inspired by Marylin Monroe story. The music, was composed in the key of A minor in common time, with a swinging tempo of 112 beats per minute. Trying to keep a beat much like that of micheal Jackson the producers kept the instruments they used limited using only a piano and guitar. The weeknds vocals themselves range from A3 to F5 bringing everything together and taking the listener back to a time when the king of pop was in every home. As you listen to the song the upbeat rythm makes you feel like you just want to get up and dance and it isnt till you actually listen to the lyrics that you can tell there is a darker meaning to it
