Abigail is the most unforgivable character in The Crucible. In the 17th century two hundred people were accused of participating in witchcraft. Nineteen of those people lost their lives to the mass hysteria. In The Crucible by Arthur Miller, there were a group of girls that started a huge disturbance in Salem, Massachusetts when they start talking about Salem members messing with the Devil. In the play it shows what happened when you start a mass hysteria and how dangerous it can be. Abigail Williams wants to be the center of attention, causes a mass hysteria, and she was a dishonest person.
