The covenants God made with Abraham and David have a huge significance in the bible and has a huge impact on us as followers of God. The main message of the bible can be interpreted in many ways. The bible talks a lot about life and death, and we are all very concerned what will happen to us after death. Many people have different thoughts, but the main message of the bible is the offering of salvation. Salvation is when we are given deliverance from sin and the temptations that come with it. God created an amazing universe and put two people on earth. These two people were named Adam and Eve. They disobeyed God and fell into Satan’s temptations. God sacrificed his son to free us from sin and we should repay him by living out his virtues. God’s promises to Abraham and David have an important impact on us as children of God. God called Abraham and told him to leave his homeland and family to live in Canaan. He promised him that he would make his name great, bless those that bless him, curse those that curse him, land, and that his descendants will number the stars. For all this to happen, Abraham has to follow God’s request and has to never lose faith. Abraham then followed God’s request and brought his wife and everything he owned. Abraham never lost faith in God and obeyed his call. In return, God makes a covenant with him. After the covenant is made, he gives him his son, Isaac. Once he is born, God test’s him and tells him to sacrifice his one and only son. This event is very important because it ties into the main message of the bible by foreshadowing when God sacrificed his son to free us from sin. God’s covenant with Abraham ties into the main message of the bible because it shows us that we should always have faith in him and that we will later be rewarded.
