Abraham Lincoln an iconic figure for America, the 16th president of the United States. He is one of America's greatest heroes,savior of the Union, and emancipation of slaves. Abraham lincoln became the first republican elected to become the president of the United States in November 6, 1860. Abraham was born on February 12, 1809 in Hodgenville,Kentucky. He grew up in a log cabin with both parents and work outside and didn’t have education. When he was 9 his mother passed away in which this cause him a big impact to learn and educate himself. His relationship with his father wasn’t the biggest or greatest. While he continued to grow, he fell in love with education and ended up teach himself what he needed to learn and became full of knowledge and made him popular. Abrahams education came by reading book and that costed him walking far distances to borrow the books. Over the years Lincoln migrated to various places due to his father with a new wife and her 3 children. He migrated to New salem's,Illinois, a small community in which over time he would grow up at and work hard and find jobs as a shopkeeper and general store owner. He acquired popularity and got elected to be an Illinois state legislature and became a member of the whig party. Around the time Lincoln became interested in law and want to become a lawyer. He began to teach himself and learn alot about law and in 1837 he was admitted to the bar in which he moved to Springfield,Illinois and practiced in the John T. Stuart Law Firm. Lincoln soon realized that Springfield didn’t offer enough work. Abraham served a single term in the U.S. House of Representatives, he use the opportunity to support Zachary Taylor in presidency and speak against the Mexican-American war.He soon later went back to studying more about law
