America has had many strong leaders over the years, and a few not so much. Three great leaders that stand out from the rest are Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson. The strongest president out of the three was Abraham Lincoln.

To start off, Lincoln made the equality we have today possible. If not for him, the nation would still be torn in half, possibly even today. "It was Lincoln's leadership his commitment to values, and his strong moral fiber thay made it possible for America to find its way through the Civil War, and then being the healing process that would eventually lead the nation back to unity once again" (Stone,3). He took a nation rapidly splitting in two, and managed to sew and heal the county's wounds
