Lincoln managed to bring our nation through the Civil War, "one of the bloodiest and costliest in the Nation 's history" (Stone 6) with his "leaderhship, his commitment to values, and his strong moral fiber" (Stone 3). He used various strategies to survive the war, including having advisors from the opposite viewpoint to be aware of both sides of every issue. What Lincoln is remembered most for, however, is his efforts to abolish slavery, which are considered "his greatest contribution to the history of America" (Stone 5).
Abarham Lincoln know a man know for his strength and courage. This man had to deal with the civil war an event that could have torn the country apart. Lincon's mentality and his ability to keep the country together makes him the strongest president we had yet. Lincoln is one of a kind, his strong moral fiber made it possible for the country to push through the civil war and reunite the country back together again. The civil war was one of the most costliest and bloodest in America's history.

I believe that the best president we 've had so far is Abraham Lincoln because he faught to end things such as slavery and saught to create a country of peace. Many people admired him back then and people still do today for some of his most well thought out speeches such as the Gettysburg address in April 1865. This speech inluded the ideal goal of America as a whole which was human equality and explained further on the purpose of the war they are fighting.
