Today, the news bombards society with the idea that all police officers are racist. Media such as movies, television, video games, and music puts this concept in the heads of many individuals. A perfect example of a rebellious rap song that conveys this message about police officers is “Fuck the Police” by N.W.A. While the beat of the song might enthuse listeners, the words of the song attack police officers. “Fuck the Police” promotes violence and highly offends police officers through N.W.A.’s word choice and influence on the younger generation.

A prime example of the provocation found in “Fuck the Police” is visible in the movie Straight Outta Compton. Actual events from N.W.A.’s rapping career inspired scenes for Straight Outta Compton. Additional lyrics state, “a young nigga got it bad cause I'm brown and not the other color so police think they have the authority to kill a minority” (N.W.A.). These lyrics allude to the racism that all policemen supposedly have. The group gives listeners the idea that police think it is acceptable to murder someone simply for being African American; although this statement might be true in some cases, it is not accurate in all cases.
