In the adventures of Huckleberry Finn written by Mark Twain, there are many ups and downs in the book that makes it very interesting and inspiring to read. People in the book inspired other characters to do certain things like Mrs. Watson to enslave Jim and Jim runs away. And Pap Finn who abuses his son Huck and has him run away. Pap Finn is the father of Huck Finn he’s an abusive father who is a southern white father and doesn’t own slaves but is racist and just terrible to African Americans. Pap influenced Huck to run away from his home because of a specific incident that happened in a shack. Huck tried to run away and Pap was very drunk and tried to kill Huck because he was attempting to sneak out. That’s a very big moment in the book because then Huck runs away and meets Jim and move on todo many things. Pap had a huge role in having Huck run away and going to a better place. Pap is a free man who takes it for granted especially when he takes his anger on African Americans and his own son. He isn’t well educated but this quote by Huck is a hint towards Paps good side. “For what you want, above all things, on a raft, is for everybody to be satisfied, and feel right and kind towards others”. Huck never had that great of an education so how is this coming from his mouth. His dad must’ve told him about these things, since Pap has made many mistakes in life he has a good side to himself.
