This is a program that helps students transfer from a community college to a four-year college. Students can get their associate's and bachelor's degree with 120 units. And students who complete an AA-T or AS-T can get a special GPA when applying to CSU impacted campuses or majors. If you are a high school student, still take college-track courses and talk to a counselor about your plans. If you are a community college student, talk to your counselor about which transfer major is the best.
I kindly asked the class to work thoroughly and explained how the assessment gave me an opportunity to evaluate their skills and guide my curriculum. Shortly after my
ASAM 100 has been one of the most insightful classes I have taken in college—so far! Through this class, I was able to learn a great deal about my culture and about myself as a person. In retrospect to my first “Why ASAM?” essay, I still believe that it is important for everybody to learn about their culture sometime throughout their life. I was able to learn about various topics such as: the issues of my culture, the traditions of my culture, how others view individuals of my culture, and more. Throughout this class, I learned about the Model Minority Myth and its effect on individuals of Asian background, I learned about issues that other Asian Americans faced through the video, Asian American Voices, and I learned to grow as a writer.
The Smarter Measure Guide assignment has shown that I am above the national average in most of the categories for example technical knowledge and overall technical competency. In the learning style section I was categorized as a physical learner; this means that I like to be actively involved by using my hands, body, and sense of touch. By taking this survey has allowed me to see where I have strengths for this course as well as other college courses I will be taking in the future. The resources provided for areas that i may have trouble with allow me to better myself with helping me improve in these areas. Overall I have a better view of how i learn and a clearer understanding of where my strengths and weaknesses
The assigned readings and the instructions in the curriculum continue to aid me in reaching my outcomes. Interaction with the students in the discussion thread and guidance from my mentors and instructor has decreased some of the problems that may occur during the final
I encouraged new ideas- such as finding easier ways to improve fundraising- into meetings that would be beneficial to my class. I have set an example for my class by aiding with the pep rally-as well as participating in it- and helping to organize the Sophomore Semi. Being able to lead in these activities gave me a
As I begin to look back over these past few weeks at Bethel University, I have learned a few things. A few of the things I’ve learned was this APA style of writing, which was something very new to me. I’ve learned how to do a correct in-text citation, proper grammar, proper comma placement, and also that this is not something I can procrastinate on and wait until the last minute to try and do. Next, as I review Unit One, the very first post for this class I had a few errors that Mrs. Cindy pointed out to me.
Discover Your Major Day was a very informative event and helped me realize that I needed help to really figure out what I wanted my major to be. The event also made me really understand that a minor or a concentration is a wonderful thing to have. The faculty that I spoke to assisted me greatly and I appreciated that. They were able to explain to me everything I was having trouble understanding. I am very glad that I attended the Discover Your Major Day event because I feel as though if I did not go, I would not have realized that I wanted to add a minor or a concentration to my four years of study here at the University of Memphis.
It has also been about building relationships with my classmates, teachers, and administrators. All of the different pieces of my education have help strengthen me. Over the past three years I have developed as a person, who understands and values community. My discovery and realization is anyone can obtain a job but I desire to transform my eagerness to learn, to help others, and be patient into something more than just a future job or career. I want to make a difference in the life of others.
When I read this prompt, I thought it was silly seeing as though I had completed the introductory memo just a few months ago. I did not think I would be able to tell anything about myself from reviewing a document I had written at the beginning of the semester. However, I was proved wrong. In the introductory memo, I wrote that my proudest achievement stemmed from the change that occurred within my high school’s color guard during the time that I was captain. Interestingly enough, two of my top five themes from the StrengthsFinder Survey are applicable to this example.
I believe this test to be very similar to what I was expecting because I am a nursing major and after taking the test I was very pleased with how the test explains how I am fit for the medical field. I have taken a similar test like that one in University 101 class my freshmen year at Liberty University and I found
To know that I am a fair person is great because I now know that in a given situation I will be fair with my decisions. I could go and explain why each of them are important to have, but like I said the ranking and outcome of the survey was unexpected. The next survey Emotional Intelligence Self-Assessment was a very interesting one. I did not know what emotional intelligence was until this course.
Therefore, I learned a lot from my experience and I feel confident that I will be able to apply my skills to my personal life, academic journey and professional
Not only was I proud of what I learned in those classes, but I was recognized and rewarded for it as well. My goal could be achieved; my hard work could be rewarded. This realization gave me more confidence in my academics. I now feel driven by the fact what I set my mind to can be achieved when I give it my best effort, and believe in ability more
Reflecting on my actions will be central in improving and changing current practices. It is apparent that my main obstacles to my end-of-academic-year goals are not due to lack of skills and ability to achieve my goals, but rather, to find the motivation, and drive to do what needs to be done. Information is key, and having awareness of my own thought process will give me the ability to find solutions to problems. This means actively acknowledging moments when negative thoughts overpower positive ones, and attempting to address them. At the same time, I will continue to cultivate positive skills, believing firmly that there is always room to
