It can also be a challenge due to the fact that there is a standard that needs to be reached and there is a certain language that needs to be used in your written work in order to reach the set standards and also depending on the assignment. However if the student dose have a proper planning done and understanding of the assignment it can be very beneficial to the student. With academic integrity it is used as a guide for academic pursuits. With the code of conduct that every college has it always has a section on how all of their students should act with personal integrity, to respect the other students’ dignity, property and rights, and it also helps make and maintain an environment where they can succeed through their hard work and their honest efforts.
There are a number of ethical issues that can happen while doing academic writing which are fabrication or falsification of data, authorship issue, confidentiality, conflict of interest and plagiarism. If however a student dose try to pass of another person’s work as their own then this is known as plagiarism. According to an article written by Joy Don Baker(2012), which is about “The Seven Rs of Supporting Opinion and Avoiding Plagiarism”, it shows us that by following these six of seven Rs you can state your opinion and to avoid plagiarising anyone else’s work.
