The play of Hamlet composed by Shakespeare displays a significance like no play other. Hamlet is the main character of this play. Although, all the acts in this play display action one act exhibits the most, the act which exhibits the most of this action is Act 5 of Hamlet. In Act 3 of Hamlet the play commences with Hamlet being ordered to be sent off to England. While on the ship Hamlet makes an atrocious discovery that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are carrying a letter which has the order to have Hamlet killed. As Hamlet makes this discovery, he changes the letter to have them both killed, he has a ring with the signet of Denmark which officially seals that order; Hamlet then makes his return back to Denmark. Hamlet and Laertes quarrel for Ophelia as Laertes does not want Hamlet to touch Ophelia and Hamlet loves Ophelia so he decides to jump in. Laertes fights with Hamlet and forces him to get out and people separate them, of the play these lines said by hamlet have been very memorable “I loved Ophelia. Forty thousand brothers, could not with their quantity of loved make up my sum. What wilt thou do for her?” This is about Hamlet specifically telling Laertes how his affection is worth more than forty thousand brothers affection combines. It’s not a type of competition that we suppose it is however, it is a competition of death. Laertes has a malicious plan to poison the sword so any slight ding or abrasion triggers Hamlet’s death. What if the plan doesn’t work you ask? They have poisoned the drink which Hamlet will be receiving when he is thirsty. Moreover, Hamlet obtains a message from Osric which is the challenge he will be taking from Claudius and Laertes. Hamlet decides to take this devious bet and asks when would they be attending and performing this bet. If Hamlet were to be the winner he will win a great large prize of six Barbery horses, Six French Rapiers and poniards with their assigns and finally three carriages. Hamlet then agrees to take the bet and play against Laertes. Hamlet goes and meets with Laertes and Osric and all the others to begin the fencing. Once they begin fencing Hamlet has victory in the first two rounds but tells Laertes he wants to make him win so he looks sharp. His mother rejoices by drinking Hamlets drink which was poisoned by the kind. Claudius asks her to not drink but she responds by telling him “I will, my lord. I pray you, pardon me.” This means I drink whatever I want to drink. She finds out its poisoned and Laertes grazes Hamlet. Hamlets accidently has Laertes sword and scratches Laertes. Hamlet then Grazes the king and forces him to drink from the poisoned cup.
