His purpose in writing his article was to bring up the importance of such critics. He uses quotes, humour, a simple layout, and examples to appeal to the reader. Disdain for critics is perennially popular, particularly in the arts.” He goes on to explaining that it is a natural thing for artists to have disdain for their critics. They have created and now it is being picked and prodded; not all the time positively. Kirsch retorts, “Once a work of art emerges from its creator and made available to the public, it becomes the possession of anyone who interacts with it and it is therefore open to their judgment.” “….a desire for recognition, admiration….credit…” Kirsch writes that a reason for the dislike of criticism is that it can unearth this power. When a person creates or comes into the public eye, they know they will be under the eye of these people. Especially if that person becomes the President. Trump, as stated in the article and having common sense, has always been straightforward with his egotism. As well as making known, his dislike for his critics. Going so far as mocking a disabled reporter. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Trump gave and gives mocking nicknames to his rivals; “Low-energy” Jeb, “Nasty woman” Clinton, and “Little” Marco.
