A Great Untold Story If you stumbled onto a great untold story what would you do? Adam Makos started off with an uneventful start to his life. Born in 1981, he had a mother, father and a brother. Though in College he would encounter a journey that would change him not just as a person, but, as an author as well. He would change his rather boring childhood into something extraordinary. Adam Makos is always trying to find the greatest story, from when he was in high school till writing A Higher Call, letting go of his prejudices he found the greatest story of World War II.
Adam Makos started his adventures to find the greatest stories of World War II with a magazine he started with his brother and a few friends, when he was just fifteen years old in 1999. The inspiration came from the stories of his grandfather's. The magazine was called “Valor”, starting with just an inkjet printer in the basement of one of the houses the small group began to write historical articles on the stories of old Air Force veterans. But, there was more to this story than meets the eye. To first get the full story, Adam Makos would have to travel to get the other side of the story, from a German fighter pilot named Franz Stigler. In 2004, Adam headed to Vancouver to interview Franz Stigler. Although the magazine did a large amounts of article, Adam Makos had a golden rule of never interviewing what was considered “the enemy”. Even though the people he was interviewing had high respects for their counterparts in the sky.
