Fidelity meaning is that a person is faithful to another person, cause, or belief. I believe that being faithful to another person is extremely important. Adapters made the transition from textual to screen filming. Viewers have evaluated the differences in adapters and if it was failthful to the text. I personally think that an adaption is faithful if it sticks to the essential story elements and core meaning of the literary texts. Most large-circulation viewers preview films in private screening rooms, where they can make their own text-to-text connections. There is no standard on how much of the essential text has to be transferred over to the film to stay faithful.
Another problem related to fidelity is the language used. A reviewer can claim if the degree of faithufulness is good or bad. The problem with language is that it tends to imply that the book is better than the movie. This is not always correct. Obviously, it goes differently with what movie you are watching and how well it portrays the book and vise versa.

The language of fidelity suggests a hierachy. A hierachy is an organization in which people of groups are ranked above one another according to status and authority. Literature is regarded as the origional copy, as to where the film is regarded as a copy. Although film keeps a good track of characters and the plot, people have a certain view of what they want their characters’ to look like after reading the book, if the movie doesn’t portray how some people would want the characters to portray, the fidelity of the movie to them is unfaithful.
