She went further into detail about why she tattooed this quote, specifically, rather than any other quote by saying her grandmother has always preached this one. The 2014 year’s Thanksgiving, shortly after her birthday, Liska decided to surprise her grandmother, who was visiting their cousins in Kansas, and tell her about her new ink. The Liska family gathered around their oak dining room table, embellished with gourds and clothed in white linen. They hastily grabbed the family iPad and called their Kansan cousins on FaceTime. Once grandmother Liska was on the screen, Addie didn’t hesitate to boast about her new tattoo and anxiously waited for her grandmother’s approval.
