Have you ever had rumors spread around that weren’t true? This is exactly what the Nazis did to the Jews in Germany in the 1930s. The Nazis believed that the Jews did not meet their standards for the Aryan race, so they wanted to get rid of them. They used multiple strategies to have control over the Jews and gain power over Germany and other surrounding countries. This resulted in Jews being put into ghettos and concentration camps and being killed. The Germans were able to do this because they used propaganda to make the Jews look bad, and they mistreated them so they could have more control over them. The world only sees him as a good leader, so it is easier for the Nazis to get away with the terrible things they are doing. Propaganda was used a lot, so they could have the Germans on their side. This made it seem like the Nazis were doing a good thing. Nazis Mistreated Jews Another strategy the Nazis used to control the Jews was by mistreating and dehumanizing them. At night, when Elie arrived at Auschwitz, the SS officers looked over Elie and the other Jews to find strong men. He later learned, from a note, that they would’ve had to work at the crematorium if they were chosen. In the note, it states, “He told us that having been chosen because of his strength, he had been forced to place his own father’s body into the furnace” (Wiesel
