E-book is a fast growing field in the literature industry where people have shifted from the traditional printed form of books to the digital form of books that is e-book. The one who has moved towards using e-books are different from other kind of readers in almost every ways. They are relatively serious readers of books in all forms: 88% of the people who read e-books also read printed books in last 12 months. Compared to other type of book readers, they read number books. They read them frequently for many number of reasons like pleasure, for research, for current events, and for work or school. The readers have a technology which supports for USB connections and have separate ports for memory cards. Some of them also provide WiFi and GSM communication. Some Ebook readers have touch screen. The size is normally A4 or A5. They may have support of audio and some have their own web browser.
This technological growth has given a way for increase in use of e books as it is more comfortable and with tech advancement people are more attracted to the digital mode of reading and as said above the number of books they read also increased due this comfort that they get. The link between e-book reader and supplier of content is closed. The sale must often go through an e-book reader application and the content itself must be paid by credit card this situation makes the lending of e-book readers and content very difficult, and may end in a situation where the content can only be read on the library site. The library should also be able to lend books that are not physically available or are too unique to be lent out. Being able to lend out pre-filled e-book readers will make the reading of online content easier, since reading from a PC monitor can be tiring. Another question is how libraries will look like in a future where many users can download the books in the same way as many young people do today with music. One way to go might be to think about libraries as a power centre in the delivery of quality assured
