A “Middleman Minority” can be described as small groups that insert themselves as profitable liaisons and additionally serve to protect the majority from a lesser group. Essentially, they are a minority population that holds a job somewhere in the middle of being a producer and a consumer. For example, they could be a money-lender or they are interested in trading. Additionally, they accept risks in order to gain opportunities involved with financial benefits. On the other hand, immigrant or ethnic enclaves can be viewed as first generation success without having to accept or adopt any other cultural patterns or traits.
