Agatha Christie had an incredible mind, which she chose to keep to herself ever since she was a small child. She did not involve herself in social events, rather chose to assume the look of an old and uninteresting person. Christie loved dogs, houses, and her mother. A mysterious woman, Agatha Christie was a fantastic mystery author. She was born in Torquay, England on the fifteenth of September in eighteen-ninety as Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller. Growing up, Agatha was very attached to her mother’s house, Ashfield. She was shy, with a happy but lonely childhood. Christie was the child of Fred and Clara Miller in Ashfield, the beloved family house that was bought with Clara’s money. This was a rare scenario in which the wife of a family owned the family house, and as Clara bought the house using her own savings without her husband’s consent, it was legally in her name. Agatha Christie was educated at home. She grew up with no intention of being a published author, even less so a successful one. In fact, she only wrote her first book as a challenge from one of her siblings, Madge. She married Archibald Christie, but later divorced. Female authors at that time were often secluded and shrouded with mystery, and Christie thought that she must contain her mind to achieve the “standard” that she believed she must become and live up to. Christie rarely stood up for herself. She once went to a party honoring one of her greater known theatrical compositions, “The Mousetrap”, and was stopped by a guard at the door.
