When thinking of Greek mythical characters we think of the majors such as Aphrodite. Or the ones with the more amazing powers such as Poseidon who controls the sea or Hades who is controller of the underworlds. While there are smaller divisions that may not seem as powerful or jaw dropping there are still wondrous and interesting ones out there such as one who protects and transforms. Her name would be Bast but now called Ailuros in Greek as well. She may not be as important and amazing as people see others but she still has her role in the the culture Starting off in this characters history and story. Still so much to the story and many details about her personality and not enough words to express. through all of this how is she important to the Greek? She shows love, compassion, and protection. She may not have influenced the culture alot. But she does show good morals and influenced people about being compassionate. The way she helped the people is they would put a statue of her in there house and this is supposed to keep snakes out of the house and to help the people to avoid infectious diseases. There were festivals in her honor as well. At these they were said to be quite rowdy. Children were said to not go to these festivals and many men and women would go. Another way she was brought into the culture of the Greeks and Egyptians was through going to her temples which had music and dancing and the priestess of Bast would dress in Basts colour being red. When going to the temples it was said to help healing, protection, and even ensuring fertility since Bast as well bared many children and had something to do with every god and goddess as well.
