Achilles was the son of god Thetis and the mortal Peleus. When he was a child, Thetis want him to be immortal so she did many things to achieve that. However, when she dunked her son in Styx, she was holding Achilles’ heel. So Achilles was invulnerable everywhere but there. When he was 9, someone predicted that he would die heroically in the Torjans battle. So Thetis sent him to an island and there he was disguised as a girl. During the battle, he found a best friend; soldier Patroclus. They had a plan until Apollo came. Apollo Helped Torjans prince Hector to find and killed Patroclus. Achilles began his revenge, he stabbed Hector in his throat and killed him. Apollo told this to Hector’s brother Paris, and helped him to kill Achilles. Apollo knew Achilles’ secret which his weakness is at his heel. Finally, Achilles was killed by Paris by an arrow which was guided by Apollo.

Many said that Achilles was brought by Thetis and his cousin. In contrast, others think that he was abandoned by his mother and was brought up by Chiron who was a Centaur. I knew that Thetis only dunked her son in Styx, but in another version, Thetis not only dunked her son in Styx but also burned Achilles in fire. These make Achilles become immortal. Nevertheless, some said Achilles didn’t become immoral and he have very had and strong armors. In the Iliad, the relationship between Achilles and Patroclus was friendship. In spite of the fact that in the Iliad, Homer didn’t deny that they were lovers, many works of Aeschylus, Aeschines and Plato dipicted them as lovers. So many people believe that they are lovers. Many people believe that he was killed by Paris and the arrow which shoot Achilles was guided by Apollo, in contrast, others think that he was killed by Apollo because of rage.
