Although there have been many gangsters, Al Capone was one of the most notable because he became famous in Chicago during prohibition. He was known to be called “Scarface” because of his scars that were left on his face from a fight. He would also bring violence with other gangsters around Chicago. Al Capone was also known for bootlegging, prostitution, and gambling.
Al Capone was a famous American gangster that was the co-founder and boss of the “Chicago Outfit”. Al Capone was named Public Enemy No. 1 after his arrest. His seven year reign as a crime boss ended when he was 33 years old. He was born in Brooklyn NY January 17th 1899. He was born to two italian immigrants, his father was a barber and his mother was a seamstress.
After this event he began to keep a much lower profile, attempting to stay out of the media as much as possible, but it has been noted that he engaged in at least one more destructive act of violence before he abstained for good. The most interesting aspect of this event from a psychological standpoint is not the fact that he killed two men, but it was how he did. Observing an age old tradition, he gave the men a great feast and pretended to be great friends with them before murdering them. This gives the researcher a look into the mind of Capone, as he could have just as easily had the men shot while walking down the street, or in any other creative way that he could think of.
He started his criminal career as a member of the "Five Points Gang", and later became the boss of the "Chicago Outfit", who made their money through gambling, prostitution, and bootlegging. Al Capone was famous for his corruption, his ability to evade law enforcement, and his violent tactics and murders. He is believed to be responsible for the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, as well as over 200 murders. After many years of crime, he was convicted in 1931 on charges of tax evasion and sentenced to 11 years, and after being released he died in 1947 of syphilis. During Al Capone's life, the United States was slowly recovering from World War I, and Prohibition had become a significant topic within the country.

Despite being well aware of the risk, Capone only had one intention: make the operation bigger than what it already was.

Al Capone was a predator, people who got in his way were his prey. He did not just kill people to get what he wanted, he was successful in large crime organizations.
