Alan Turing as portrayed in The Imitation Games is greatly differs from the real Alan Turing's life and accomplishments. For example, the film implies that Alan turing had homosexual tendencies but in reality he was very open about being gay in a time where being homosexual was still considered a crime under the Labouchere Amendment and punishable by chemical castration. Alan turing was eventually prosecuted for homosexual tendency where he pled guilty and accepted chemical castration rather than a lengthy prison sentence. Another commonly overlooked factor with significant importance is that the creation of “Christopher” did not solely belong to genius Alan Turing. Alan turing is responsible for the majority of deciphering the Enigma code
