When reading different books, it is easy to see how one compares to today’s world. There are certain instances that make you believe that the author can predict the future. The same can be said about the book Brave New World.This book was written in 1931 by Aldous Huxley. There are many ways in which Brave New World compares to the modern day America. In the first chapter alone, there are instances in which both the book and modern day America are similar. The first chapter talks about procedures in which fertilized eggs are used to create babies. In today’s world, that is consider artificial insemination. While the book’s process involves shocking an egg which in then turns into a certain number of embryo’s, artificial insemination is more along the lines of implanting a woman who is capable of carrying a baby to full term with an embryo. This is no different in today’s world. A scientific fact is deemed to have more power over the decisions that are made for children in both the book and today’s world. In the book, a child is trained to act just as the next child has acted. In today’s world, a child who is labeled as ADHA or autistic is believed to behave in the same way. While the descriptions are not quite as similar, the meaning behind them are the same. In a classroom, kids are expected to behave just like one another. It may be difficult to see the point of view, but if you look closely, you will see that science is definitely controlling the way that kids behave just as they are in the
