One example is during the battle at Tyre, once Alexander’s army broke into the city they went on a ferocious killing spree (Doc C). Alexander had ordered anyone that was not inside the temple to be slain and he killed seven thousand Tyrians.

A third reason that Alexander should not be considered great is that he used brutal methods to conquer land.

Alexander was very effective because he was able to blend two cultures, had a great military, and gained the trust of the people.

Alexander the great was a hero because although he did kill and enslave people that's really the only truly bad thing he was known for. But he was known for a numerous amount of truly good deeds and only one truly bad things. And in this case the goods out way the bad.
A hero does not fight for fame and glory but for the greater good. A hero is someone who goes through adversity to help others in desperate times. A hero fights evil, and defends people. Beowulf should be considered a hero because he is a strong, brave warrior who defended his people and slayed evil monsters. Beowulf proves himself to be a strong, brave warrior by killing Grendel the monster.
