The company of the play is Artslandia and the performance was Alice (In Wonderland). The Play was performed at Keller Auditorium, on March 2, 2018 at 7:30pm. The overall tone of the production was enjoyable. Alice goes down a rabbit hole and was brought into a magical land called wonderland; however, the Queen of Hearts and her army becomes reality. Alice is told about a task that she thinks that she can not accomplish the task. The characters were very believable, the music was able to set the right tone for the atmosphere throughout the ballet. The body movements were extremely well, you were able to see how the character would have felt with each gesture as well as their body movement. The movement of the actors seemed to be all over the place but somehow it worked really well for the play, everything from the character's movement just lined up just right. The play was almost perfect, but there was a couple moments that it seemed like there was too much going on, on stage that brought my attention away from the storyline. They seemed like they were all in the same play. I was near the back of the performance, so I was kinda lost because I wasn’t really sure what hand movements they were doing. I ended up not following the story very well at certain parts then I was able to follow once I knew where I was at in the story. I would recommend if you haven’t watched or read Alice In Wonderland you should watch it sometime before you go see the play.
I believe that the production was trying to tell us is that we are a different person than we are yesterday because Alice thought she wasn’t capable of doing the task she was given, the reason that made her think she wasn’t able to do it was that she was making a lot of mistakes. I think the director was trying to get us to go along with the journey with Alice to know how she was feeling while going through with her struggles. Overall, I really like the ballet. The ballet was really pretty, the music and lighting was just
