Jones had the most power and used that against the animals in the beginning of the novel. He didn’t feed them properly and abused them. “ The next moment he and his four men were in the store-shed with whips in their hands, lashing out in all directions. This was more than the hungry animals could bear” (pg.19). After the rebellion, the animals wrote in their seventh commandment that “all animals are equal” (pg.25). However, towards the end of the novel, it was rewritten to “all animals are equal but some are more equal than others” (pg.134). It was changed because Napoleon had even more power than Jones and was treating the other animals in the same despotic manner.
