On Sunday June 12th,2016 a horrific attack occurred in a popular gay nightclub known as “Pulse Club” in Orlando, Florida where 49 people were gruesomely murdered and at least 53 people were injured. Ralph Ellis, Ashley Fantz, Faith Karimi and Eliott C. McLaughlin of CNN collaborated to cover this incident and submitted an article to CNN’s online webpage titled Orlando shooting: 49 killed, shooter pledged ISIS allegiance.
Omar Mateen who was 29 years of age, resided in another area of Florida however, he was born in New York specifically, Long Island. Mateen worked as a security officer at G4S Secure Solutions which has been noted by CNN to be one of the world’s largest private security companies. Many government officials have been following Jihandi forums in order to obtain further information with no luck however, many pro-islamic forums have been seen Islamic sympathizers praising the attack online. President Barack Obama publicly went through mass media explaining the seriousness situation and also made a statement revealing that they have enough information to conclude that this attack was one of terror and hate. According to CNN’s authors and authorities, this attack in Orlando can be considered to be the deadliest mass shooting in the United States and unfortunately, the nation 's worst terror attack since 9/11.
