Biography of Allan Pinkerton

A scream pierced the peaceful night. The calm night was now tense. The people of the town hid in their homes, waiting. This was what it was like before Allan came to town. Allan Pinkerton was born in a small home in1819, the town of Glasgow, Scotland. He was born to a poor family and later, became more penniless when their main in other words only wage earner died. Allan’s Father was a police sergeant. He died of wounds a prisoner gave him during a custody. Allan married Joan ( a singer) and his family was still poor so Allan went into the barrel making bussiness.

Allan migrated around because they got into trouble by the law when the police found them setting up a slave station. After a while, they settled in a town called Dundee (still in Scotland). One day, Allan was looking for wood for his barrels. The part he needed wood for is called the stave which is the outside of the barrel. In other words, the biggest part. He realised that he could get his wood by going to and island. Dundee was near the coast. Allan found a group of counterfeiters on the island. He went to the local sheriff and immediately made arrests. The merchants, impressed with his honesty and courage hired Allan to keep a lookout for more outlaws.
