Plato's “Allegory of the Cave” was one of the most influential philosophical works of the Axial Age, which occurred in the years 500-300 BCE. The Axial Age laid its roots mostly in China, Greece, Judea, and India. All of which have become some of the most important geographical figures of philosophy and religion due to their importance in the Axial Age. The “Allegory of the Cave” specifically came from Greece. It was written by Plato, a Greek philosopher, around the year 380 BCE. The work has influenced many modern-day publications, such as films, shows, books, and even music. The answer is simple, the followers of QAnon are inventing a new reality to make sense of what they're perceiving as life, just like the prisoners stuck in the cave in the “Allegory”. In the “Allegory of the Cave”, three prisoners are in a cave. They sit against a wall, with a fire going on behind them, and watch as shadows are cast along the wall in front of them. Because the prisoners have never known anything else, they believe that the shadows are objects on the wall. One day, one of the prisoners is set free, and he heads outside of the cave into the world. He gets to view the sun and water, but he is confused. He goes back into the cave to inform his friends of what he saw, but they refuse to leave the cave with him, claiming that he is crazy. Both QAnon followers and the prisoners are making up a reality of their own, to explain the circumstances they are in. QAnon followers have taken their reality to another level, by correlating entirely new false identities onto the government officials they believe to be killing and eating children. With QAnon followers, it is likely that they have never known what it is like to work in a government system. Because they’ve never known anything else, just like the prisoners in the cave, they use the little insight they’re given to create an idea for themselves of what they believe the government to
