Alma in the Time of the wolves has to deal with person vs self, person vs person and person vs nature. Sir Ernest Shackleton in Shipwrecked at the bottom of the world has to deal with all of these as well. And in 1996 Rob all climbed everest had all three to get through too. Alma in The Time of The Wolves had a huge internal conflict. This Person vs Self conflict arrived at the beginning of the story when Alma was asked to go check on Sarah, Alma did not like Sarah but she went to look after her anyways. By doing this Alma demonstrates that she herself has a very caring personality. The TIme of The Wolves Alsma was in a lot of conflicts, but the biggest one is, when Sarah attacked Alma. To deal with the situation Ama had to multitask to stop the attack and deal with it while the wolves were also attacking, Alma did what she needed to do to keep both herself and Sarah alive. In the book Shipwreck at the bottom of the World, Shackleton had to deal with McNish. McNish refused to follow Shackleton's orders, after a while on the ice, Shackleton held his calm personality and dealt with McNish off to the side with on yelling, freaking out or demanding anything of McNish, by doing this he dealt with the underlying issues and he also increased the respect of the crew. On Mount Everest in 1996 Rob Hall had an expedition leader that drove him crazy, that leader was Ian Woodall of the South African team. Ian wanted to climb when ever he darn well wanted.
