The Consequences Of Ambition In Julius Caesar Having a strong desire to achieve a goal often portrays the worse side of people. Without even being aware of it, people with a lot of power are able to take control of a whole situation and turn everything upside down. This is evident in the TV show, “Quantico”. In this show, Liam O’Connor, a special agent in the FBI is a person with a lot of authority and power over all the FBI agents who are trainees at “Quantico”. Liam decides who passes and who fails in becoming an FBI agent. He knows everything about every single trainee, and later on in the series, the audience gets to find out that Liam is in fact the person who has framed a trainee named Alex Parrish into being the culprit regarding the bombing attack on …show more content…

Liam demonstrates how he had such a strong desire to achieve his goal which is to make the FBI look bad, and he succeeded for the time being until he was found out of. This example demonstrates how a person having a lot of power can completely ruin everything and do anything that they please even if it is for the worse of things. In Julius Caesar, Shakespeare demonstrates how ambition always leads to the downfall of characters. This is shown in the play when Brutus plans Caesar's’ death, when Caesar rejects the crown several times, and when Brutus kills himself. Murder is caused by a strong sense of ambition. In Julius Caesar, Shakespeare makes it evident how Brutus planning Caesar’s death demonstrates how he is willing to do anything to get his way. Brutus starts off by thinking Caesar is not fit to be king. This can be shown in the play when he states, “What means this shouting?/ I do fear, the people choose Caesar/ For their king” (1.2.88). Brutus demonstrates the start of his hatred toward Caesar being crowned king. Brutus shows sense of bitterness and jealousy regarding Caesar’s accomplishments
