FOREWARD
The flag of the United States, also known as Old Glory, should be respected all the time. I belong to the Boy Scouts of America and know alot about the flag but by researching for this report, I want to learn why the flag of the United states is important. The flag had 13 stars from 1777-1795. the Flag should never touch anything beneath it like the ground , water ,and merchandise. Flag Day is on June 4th. The most common nicknames for the flag are stars and stripes, and old glory. When the the flag is vertical the stars should face north east. The parts of a flag are the width, hoist, field,length, and fringe. The design on the original flag was 13 stars and stripes. You salute the flag with your right hand over your heart.
