According to the author, it is believe that united states have the best healthcare system with highly sophisticated medical machines to diagnostic all kinds disease and treat them, but it is very expensive so many people cannot afford to pay. The author pointed out why healthcare is very expensive. He made it clear that American healthcare system is based on the western culture medicine which is influence by both cultural and political factors. Culturally, Americans have been trained to believe that humankind can at least achieve many aspects of mastery over nature, and also believe in technological inventiveness that can improve their lives. The rest of the people has bare their own cost. They are either rely on state health care if they qualify, pay by use their money, buy health insurance, use tradition medicine, or go to a hospital emergency room, which, by law, people cannot taken care of because they cannot pay. American health care was in crisis in the late 2000 as noted by the author, because many Americans lost their job as while health insurance during the economic crisis. In addition many people turn six five years to qualify for Medicare. This made the federal-government decided to reform the healthcare system which also generated debate. Some supporters of the reform have the view that all Americans, should be given medical care service, but not only some people. Some also have the view government reform program should maintain the system where free market where Americans can to choose their own doctors and insurance, rather than the government making decision healthcare cost. The author ended this by advising visitors to enquiry from their American friends to know more about America healthcare
