Conquering the small countries is what big countries have done for the centuries, and America is not the exception as many companies have come to the poor countries and used their labor force. America chooses the outside labor because America workers are protected by law and union, so companies can’t freely force the workers to work overtime, or put them in the bad working condition, but they can do that with the other workers as they don’t have any union or lack of protection from the government. American companies pay very cheap for foreign workers, which barely keep them survive, although these workers bring them humungous profit. Workers from poor countries are suffering from the low wage and polluted working condition when US companies make the huge profit. In the history, using labor from poor countries had existed for the long time, which called slave, but nowadays, slave is called cheap labor. Slaves had existed for thousands years ago, for example, ancient Rome was the most powerful country in the first century, it used slave from poor countries to serve nobles and upper class, and Rome also used slaves to build hundreds of pyramids. Slaves were mostly come from losing and undeveloped countries, and they were in lower class of the society. After the World War II, the slave system had been erased as all colonial countries gained freedom. Although slaves aren’t seen in present, but it didn’t totally disappear as it exists in other form, which is cheap labor. In 1620, America imported 21000 slaves from Africa, and this was the first time slaves appeared in USA. In 1864, as Thirteenth Amendment was passed to ban slavery in America, America lost the huge labor force, and then today many unions were created to protect workers. China is the biggest country providing the labors for US companies as most products are made in China. China labors obtain very low salary, and it’s not enough to feed their families. For example, the hourly wage in US is nine dollars, but China workers get only 1.36 dollars. Although almost every items in China is cheaper than US, many workers still suffer, and many families unable to afford school for their children. Instead of going to school, 250 million children in developing countries, from age between 6 to 14 years old, have to work in the companies, but the child labor from China is still unknown because the government doesn’t allow releasing any number. Based on Chinese non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the number of child labor of China is increasing because of the high rate dropping out from the school proportion to the growing entrepreneurs in China. These children have to work from 7 am to 10 pm every day in very bad condition with only one hour break. Children work in toy, firework, and newspaper industries get paid even lower than adult workers. The wage, Asia employees receive, is so low, which forces many children to work in the industries to feed their families. Besides the low wage, the employees have to work in the polluted conditions.
